Though we’re not in this business for the awards, it’s exciting to get recognition for what we’re doing. Here are a few of the awards we’ve won, were shortlisted for or are still waiting the results for.
WINNER: giffgaff named the #1 online community worldwide
giffgaff, the SIM-only mobile network, has been recognised as the number one global online community by the leader in Social Customer Solutions Lithium. (September 2011)
WINNER: Constellation SuperNova Awards 2011
Vincent Boon, Community Manager at giffgaff, has been named a ‘Protostar’ winner in the 2011 Constellation SuperNova Awards in recognition for his work with giffgaff’s members. The awards celebrate those who successfully put pioneer new technologies in a practical context to deliver a market-changing approach in their sector. (September 2011)
WINNER: Best new brand, Marketing Society Awards for Excellence
giffgaff scooped the prestigious title of best new brand for its innovative creation of a community-led mobile network. It beat off stiff competition from the likes of Barclaycard Freedom, KFC – Crushing on Krushems, Raconteur Media and Santander.
NOMINATED: Telecommunications, CIM Marketing Excellence Awards 2011
This award from the Chartered Institute of Marketing has been created to highlight those who practise marketing excellence.

This award highlights the impact a community is making or if it has changed the game for the company.

This award is to recognise ground-breaking use of online communications from any sector or part of the business. This category is for small and medium-sized firms to give them a chance to show how blogs can prove an effective communications channel for even the smallest companies.

The ‘people-powered network’, which gives customers free calls and texts in return for assistance with online technical support or marketing, is a new breed of business for the web 2.0 generation.
